Basic Tune-Up

Secures brake and shift levers, lubricates pivots. Includes cable and bearing adjustments, but not replacement. Adjusts hub, headset, and bottom bracket bearings. Minor wheel truing (on bike to provide brake pad clearance. Lubricates chain. Lubricates derailleur pivots and pulleys. Sets derailleur limits. Wipes down frame.   Not as complete as the level 1, as this tune-up is intended for basic maintenance.

 Brake System Tune-Up

On bikes with rim brakes

Secure and lube both levers; remove, trim, and lube cables; secure calipers; adjust pivots; adjust pads; adjust loose hubs; true wheels laterally as necessary to allow brake adjustment; clean rims; set clearance; center calipers. No additional service charges required for installation of new cables, brake pads, or calipers.

On bikes with disc brakes

Secure and lube both levers; remove, trim, and lube cables (hydraulic gets leak inspection instead); align and secure calipers; replace pads; adjust loose hubs; true rotors; clean rotors; set clearance; align calipers. No additional service charges required for installation of new cables or pads. Surcharges may be necessary for milling I.S. caliper mounts or replacing rotor.

Drive Train Tune-Up

Remove and clean chainrings, both derailleurs, freewheel, and chain; remove, trim, and lube cables; lube, secure, and adjust shift levers; lube and adjust derailleurs. No additional service charges required for installation of new cables, chainrings, freewheel, chain, or derailleurs.
