We do things differently from the other stores.  The first thing that you may notice when entering our store is that we don't stock very many bikes.  There's a number of reasons why, but mainly because we are mostly a service-oriented shop.  Most shops have a huge showroom and a tiny workshop.  We prefer a larger workshop.  Also, when you look at the number of brands we sell, it would be impossible to stock all the resulting models (482) in all of there colors and sizes. So, we prefer personalizing your new bike to YOU, rather than steering you toward a bike that we happen to have in stock.

At JRABS, our bicycle assembly process is the most comprehensive in the industry.  I can guarantee you that the the bicycle that you purchase from me will last longer, ride smoother, be more efficient, and cost you less in the long run.  Here's why:

"Grease failure could come at any time. Factory original greases are often of the lowest quality and applied in very limited or erratic quantities. Frames are often inadequately cleaned at the factory, so bottom bracket and headset grease often has been contaminated with abrasive particles even before the bike has been ridden. For these reasons it is difficult to project the normal calendar time or elapsed miles that should occur between bearing overhauls. As a rule of thumb, 2,000-3,000 miles or two to three years of generally fair-weather riding should make a bike ready for an overhaul. The best method to determine whether grease has become due for replacement is inspection." John Barnett, Barnett's Manual DX - This is why, JRABS overhuals EACH bicycle before you ever ride it.  We replace the factory grease with genuine Phil Wood grease.

Bikes are shipped to bike shops in the same manner, no matter the brand.  What the bike shop does from there will make a huge difference in the bike's performance and longevity.  Here are the approximate times to assemble a new adult bicycle:

We completely disassemble your new bike, check the frame alignment, spoke tension, overhaul the hubs & headset, remove the cranks and bottom bracket to make sure the frame is properly prepped, and then re-assemble it.  Here are some images of our assembly process for a $500 mountain bike.

This app opens the door to a whole range of functions, from the simplest (classic cycle computer functions such as display speed, distance, remaining charge level, incline etc.) to the most complex (navigation management and programming of the various outputs, recording data, setting weather forecast alerts, etc.) The intelligence of the Cento1 Hybrid doesn't stop there: the system can also help when you want to monitor other parameters - your heart rate, for example. When paired with a heart rate monitor, a maximum heart rate can be set. If your heart rate reaches the predetermined threshold during activity, the system will engage the motor, enabling your heart rate to return to within the threshold set without having to stop pedaling. One of the most important aspects for us was to achieve a record weight, and we succeeded in creating a racing bike with pedal assistance that weighs less than 12 kg. A lightweight monocoque carbon frame, high-quality mechanical components and an Ebikemotion servo-assistance system, with a total weight (motor, battery and controls) of 3.7 KG, the lightest solution on the market. When designing the Cento1 Hybrid, we focused on those individuals who are discovering the world of racing bikes for the first time, as well as the thousands of passionate cyclists who already use racing bikes, but who struggle to keep up with their friends, or who can no longer conquer their favorite climb. The Cento1 Hybrid is composed of a monocoque carbon frame and fork, built using the same composite materials and with the same technologies that we usually employ on our high-end racing bicycles. The shape and geometry of the Cento1 Hybrid frame is derived from the NDR family of racing-endurance bikes, which a more comfortable riding position, but without giving up the racing spirit. The Cento1 Hybrid is fitted with traditional-type components, such as hydraulic disc brakes, 11-speed Shimano groupset and high-profile aluminium wheels. The only component that differs from the standard equipment provided is the rear hub, which contains the drive unit that provides the pedal assistance. The energy required by the motor is delivered by the battery, which is neatly integrated into the downtube of the frame. The system is controlled (on, off and monitoring) via a button which is integrated into the top tube, enabling the rider to choose from the various assistance modes offered by the Cento1 Hybrid.

The Cento10NDR will let you spend long hours in the saddle, thanks to its specially designed endurance geometry and the ACTIFLEX system: Wilier's new approach to absorbing rear vibrations generated by bumps in the road surface. The sophisticated design of the steerer tube combined with the special form of the headtube allows us to route up to three cables inside the frame. The three cables enter the steerer tube through the Alabarda or Stemma & Barra. The shifter and brake cables are routed from the levers at exactly the right angle into the steerer tube. If you're using electronic gears and disc brakes, the bike will not have any exposed cables, giving the Cento10NDR a beautifully clean look. The road bike market is evolving. New users are coming to the world of high-performance bikes with a variety of goals other than purely racing. They want more relaxed geometry, the option to fit wider tires and disc brakes, and the ability to cycle long distances without discomfort. Essentially, they want the perfect blend of responsiveness, performance, light-weight, ride quality and comfort. With the Cento10NDR, we have brought together all these aspects that until now belonged to completely different visions and experiences of cycling. Developing the ACTIFLEX project since 2014, we have woven our traditional racing DNA into the endurance world. Frame geometry is key when it comes to endurance bikes. To offer Cento10NDR riders the maximum level of racing comfort, the proportions between the frame tubes needed to be reconsidered. The final result is a position that is slightly shorter and taller than in traditional racing geometries, thanks to a shorter reach and a taller stack. This reach and stack combination gives a more comfortable position without using any spacers between the stem and the frame. How often do we see cyclists with pure racing bikes and several centimeters of spacers under the stem? Now with the Cento10NDR the overall look of the bike will be clean and balanced, while at the same time race-ready. Cento10NDR is a race-ready frame similar to the Cento10PRO, our high-end, light, and aerodynamic racing model. As with the Cento10PRO, Cento10NDR was developed according to NACA Low-Speed rules' aeronautical algorithms that allow us to design the frame tubes with the highest possible aerodynamic efficiency. Alongside the NACA algorithms, Wilier uses another important concept in aerodynamics: the Kamm theory. Indeed, all profiles are designed with a Kamm tail, reducing weight and increasing stiffness without negatively affecting the aerodynamic efficiency of the tube itself. Cento10NDR was the first road bike whose frame and fork could be mounted with either type of brakes: flat mount 160 mm rotor disc brakes with thru-axles or traditional direct mount rim brakes with quick release. This solution expands the available configurations of the Cento10NDR, meaning the frame is always ready for an upgrade. The fork and rear triangle have been designed to accommodate a wide range of tires: up to 28 mm with the rim brakes or up to 30 mm with disc brakes. ACTIFLEX is the heart of the Cento10NDR frame, a new way to connect the seatpost and seatstays. Using a carefully designed aluminum link and a technopolymer dissipater, they have given the rear wheel a few millimeters of travel. The torsional stiffness of the aluminum link remains comparable to traditional monocoque carbon seatstays, despite the ACTIFLEX. This stiffness gives the frame racing performance, while at the same time allowing the rear wheel to move up and down over bumps caused by imperfections in the road surface. Connected to the aluminum link is a dissipater that stabilizes the kinematic movement of the rear triangle. This special technopolymer has amazing physical properties, high atmospheric resistance, and can function in temperatures from -40°F to 302°F. The dissipater is made in three different colors to distinguish the different levels of density, meaning that ACTIFLEX can be fine tuned according to the weight of the rider and/or the type of terrain they typically encounter on their bike.

It looks and rides the way in which the legendary Supercorsa – the world’s longest running production steel frame – might have looked had it been designed for racing today rather than in the 1950s. The first prototypes of this frame were born according to the specifications of a recently retired Italian professional rider working at Cinelli who, seduced by the Columbus tubing being manufactured on the factory floor attached to the Cinelli offices, demanded that Cinelli produce a pure racing steel frame that took full advantage of the latest advances in high tech steel tubing manufacturing. The Superstar is Cinelli’s cutting-edge carbon fiber re-interpretation of the mythical Italian stage-racing bicycle that is the brand’s heritage and DNA. Unlike other brands who each year offer bicycles with ever increasingly narrow scope of use, Cinelli, when developing the Superstar, obsessed over the way in which the inherent qualities of carbon fiber and its manufacturing processes could be employed to produce an aggressively contemporary version of the legendary versatility of the Italian Grand Tour ride quality i.e. the intelligent balance of low-weight, aggressive handling over highly varied terrain and long-distance riding comfort. To this end, the Superstar not only adheres to a traditional Italian racing geometry (72,5° headtube, 415mm chainstays), but is also characterized by: the shaping of the forms of the frame to allow the greatest precision and customization of the lay-up of different grades of carbon in the construction process. Note, for example, how the tangent lines joining the top and down tubes to the head tube allow for the carbon fiber to remain completely straight thus offering the maximal weight-to-stiffness ratio. The proprietary bowed top tube, whose form allows for a controlled deformation of the top tube headtube when the frame is subject to strong vertical or horizontal forces such as potholes, poorly surface roads etc. The controlled deformation results above all in a head tube that remains 8% more parallel to its original position, allowing for greater control and predictability of handling when riding in rough conditions. The use of both external and – unlike the majority of other models on the market – internal PU moulds during the carbon curing process, allowing for greater compression of the fibers as well as minimizing the amount of resin needed and greatly increasing long-term reliability of the frame. After spending the last 13 years in the professional peloton riding for teams such as Quick Step and Team Sky, in 2017 Davide Viganò raced and won the Red Hook Criterium series with Team Cinelli Chrome. In additional to select fixed gear criteriums, Davide raced a calendar of prestigious North American road criteriums including Speed Week and Tulsa Tough. He raced these criteriums alone, without the luxury of team mate or mechanic, often finishing on the podium. Racing without support, on varied highly varied terrain, he chose to travel with the Cinelli Superstar, a carbon designed with ultimate emphasis on versatility and secure handling. At the heart of the confident and predictable handling of the Superstar is its proprietary bowed top tube which allows the frame to respond in a far more controlled way than traditional carbon fiber frames to the deformations produced by road obstacles such as potholes or cobblestones. The Superstar’s bowed top tube allows for the bike’s headtube and fork to remain noticeably more (8%) parallel to their original position, allowing the rider to more easily control the bike in difficult terrain. The controlled deformation of the top tube also reduces the loss of surface contact at the rear wheel, further improving the rider’s ability to control the bike.
