Brake Adjustment
Front sidepull, centerpull, or dual pivot $45 BR1.1 Secure, inspect, and lube lever; remove, inspect, replace if necessary, size and lube cable and housings; inspect and secure caliper; adjust caliper pivot(s); lube caliper; inspect, replace if necessary, and align pads; adjust clearance and centering of pads; true wheel laterally as necessary to permit proper clearance adjustment. Rate intended to allow for normal range of lateral error of wheel, but it may be necessary to add BR2.4 In the case of a wheel in extreme need of truing.

Rear sidepull, centerpull, or dual pivot

$45 BR1.2 Same as BR1.1.
Front V-brake (linear pull), cantilever, or U-brake

$57 BR1.3 Same as BR1.1 except add remove calipers, grease pivot studs, and mount calipers using Loctite on bolts.
Rear V-brake (linear pull), cantilever, or U-brake

$57 BR1.4 Same as BR1.1 except add remove calipers, grease pivot studs, and mount calipers using Loctite on bolts.
Front roller cam brake $66 BR1.5 Same as BR1.1 except add remove calipers, grease pivot studs, and mount calipers using Loctite on bolts. Other additional steps include possible cleaning of calipers and adjustment of roller pivots.

Rear roller-cam brake $66 BR1.6 Same as BR1.1 except add remove calipers, grease pivot studs, and mount calipers using Loctite on bolts. Other additional steps include possible cleaning of calipers and adjustment of roller pivots.

Surcharges to Brake Adjustments Above
Install new caliper   N/C BR2.1 When replacing a caliper, there is no significant additional work compared to the BR1 series.

Install new brake pads  N/C BR2.2 Because it should be considered routine to loosen old brake pads to adjust them, there should be no additional charge to install new ones.

Install new control cable  N/C  BR2.3 Because it should be considered routine to remove the existing cables for inspection, sizing and lubrication, there should be no additional charge for installing new ones.

Excess lateral wheel truing  $25 BR2.4 When the condition of the wheel makes it impossible to get a brake adjustment, this charge will be applied. This charge covers lateral truing only, so a regular wheel truing charge (see Wheels) should be applied when the wheel also needs radial correction, dishing, or tensioning. This charge is applied as a surcharge to brake work, and not as an inexpensive wheel truing option.

Install new lever on drop bars (excludes recovering bars)

$10 BR2.5 Used only as a surcharge to brake adjustment. A new lever should not be installed without taking responsibility for the whole brake.
Install new lever, BMX or MTB (includes installing grip)

$10 BR2.6 Used only as a surcharge to brake adjustment. A new lever should not be installed without taking responsibility for the whole brake.
Disc Brakes (all below apply to one brake)
Install rotor, hydraulic or mechanical system

$16 BR3.1 Includes wheel and rotor removal and reinstallation, plus caliper alignment and clearance adjustment if necessary.
Align rotor, using dial-readout tool

$25 BR3.15 Includes wheel removal and reinstallation.
Install new brake, mechanical caliper

$65 BR3.2 Includes installing caliper, rotor, and cable (assumes existing lever is compatible). Add wheel building charge if the hub is not disc-brake compatible. NOTE: Add derailleur adjustment charges for integrated brake/shift levers.
Replace pads, hydraulic or mechanical caliper

$17 BR3.3 Includes wheel and pad removal & reinstallation, plus pad clearance adjustment.
Maintenace service on hydraulic or mechanical brake, including mechanical cable replacement

$30 BR3.4 Includes replacing pads, replacing cable, realigning caliper and adjusting pad clearance.NOTE: Rotor alignment, rotor replacement, milling mounts, replacing hydraulic line, bleeding hydraulics, or rebuilding master/slave cylinders all additional.
Overhaul mechanical caliper

$74 BR3.5 Includes disassembly, cleaning, and greasing of caliper, plus installation of pads and clearance adjustment.
Install new brake, hydraulic caliper

$94 BR3.6 Includes installing caliper, rotor, lever, and line. Add bleeding surcharge if new brake is dry or needs bleeding. Add wheel building charge if hub is not disc-brake compatible.NOTE: Add derailleur adjustment charges for integrated brake/shift levers.
Overhaul hydraulic caliper and master cylinder

$125 BR3.7 Includes disassembling caliper & master cylinder, cleaning, labor for parts replacement, reassembly, bleeding, and adjustment.
Bleed hydraulic brake system

$55 BR3.8 Includes labor for clearing old fluid and air from existing system. Add surcharge if replacing or sizing line.
Surcharge for replacing/sizing hydraulic line

$21

BR3.9 Apply to BR3.6 or BR3.8. Add BR3.8 surcharge (bleeding), if performing installation of pre-bled hydraulic brake.
Surcharge for milling disc mounts (per brake)

$30  BR3.91  Apply to brake installation or brake adjustment to improve alignment of pads to rotor. Includes wheel and caliper removal, milling, wheel and caliper installation.
Install BMX Freestyle Rotor System

$115.50 BR4 Installing Rotor systems involves headset overhaul, and quite often disconnecting and reconnecting the front brake.

Prices are for labor only. Any parts are additional.
